The Dark Barn Lodge is surrounded by beautiful English countryside and the River Leaden is just a short walk from the accommodation. The river is great for the walkers in the family, who can stroll along its banks and look out for wildlife. The location also offers easy access to all of Gloucestershire’s many glorious attractions. Whether you enjoy visiting cathedrals and churches or historical towns, such as Newent, Ledbury and Tewksbury, there is something to suit all tastes and ages. You can also enjoy the wildlife and countryside of the Forest of Dean, which is situated just 18 miles (30 km) from the lodge. The forest has plenty of amenities and regularly hosts special events. The forest is home to several art and sculpture trails; walks; a Go Ape high-wire adventure course; cycling trails; horse riding paths; and much more.
